Far Cry 7 release date, when is the game coming out ?
Far Cry is a series of first-person shooter video games developed and published by Ubisoft. The series began in 2004 with the release of the first game, Far Cry, and since then has gone through several iterations, each with a unique story and a different setting.
Insider Gaming recently revealed that Ubisoft currently has two Far Cry games in development at their studio.
Far Cry 7 Release Date, when is the game coming out ?
For the moment, no official release date. However, according to Insider Gaming, the seventh game in the licence could be released in autumn 2025 as it is still in the middle of development.
The game would not aim to revolutionise the licence, but would remain faithful to the idea and theme of the old games. There is also a second game in development that will be more multiplayer oriented.
So stay tuned for Ubisoft's announcements at upcoming conferences. Currently, the Far Cry 7 project is dubbed "Project Blackbird" while the Far Cry multiplayer project is called "Project Maverick". Both projects are said to be managed, in large part, by the Montreal-based branch of Ubisoft.
Project Maverick could well let us play old characters of the series like Juan Cortez for example. Here's what we know about the next Far Cry games, which should arrive in 2025 (source). In the meantime you can still get a taste with Far Cry 6 available since 2021.
